Secrets of Six-Figure Women
Secrets of Six-Figure Women: Surprising Strategies to Up Your Earnings and Change Your Life is a terrific book for any woman who feels underpaid, wants to increase her income, wants to own her own business, wants more balance in her life, or a combination thereof. Its author, Barbara Stanny, is a journalist, motivational speaker and financial educator. The book is based on Stanny’s research and interviews, both with “underearners” as well as women whose annual income ranges from $100,000 to $7 million. It reveals common traits among underearners that sabotage their earnings potential (e.g. The Imposter Syndrome) as well as secrets to the high earners’ success (e.g. Focus on fulfilling your values rather than financial gain.). Secrets of Six-Figure Women also provides exercises for examining your values and motivational patterns as well as your attitudes and beliefs about money, some of which may surprise you. What make this book so compelling, however, are the inspirational stories of high earners, who openly shared their fears, dreams, struggles, grit and desire to live life on their own terms. I've recommended this book to a number of my career coaching clients, all of whom found it inspiring and enlightening. As one recently shared, "I wasn't thrilled by the prospect of reading it, but once I started, I couldn't put it down. Afterward, I sat down with my boss and let him know that I wanted - and deserved! - an upgrade in my position and salary, and he agreed. I feel so empowered!" http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_b?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-...
