The nonprofit sector brings together dedicated and motivated individuals of all ages and walks of life who share a common desire to make a positive impact on our world. The causes are many and important; here are just a few: preserving our environment and the beauty of nature, educating our young people, feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, supporting the unemployed, caring for our veterans, bringing the arts to diverse audiences, healing the sick, comforting the dying, and promoting social justice. In sum, the nonprofit sector represents the heart of our society and what’s best about the human spirit. I feel proud, humbled, and privileged to be a part of this.
